Providence Bay Discovery Centre

Working under the direction of Point of View Exhibits we developed an interpretive plan, graphic design and provided some fabrication and printing services for the redevelopment of the Discovery Centre in Providence Bay.  The existing centre consisted of an extensive collection of local artefacts arranged randomly throughout the space and lacked any cohesive story.  Bronzed baby boots could be found sitting next to WWII artefacts, and resting above a collection of Silurian fossils.

We looked to the unique landscape of Manitoulin Island for our inspiration in reorganizing the collection and divided the exhibit into four habitat zones - Lake, Dunes, Rivers and Upland Forests.

Within these categories, we told the story of Providence Bay.
